Patrick’s “Heavenly Bodies” is Full of Confidence

Patrick’s small but eclectic discography has been boosted by the religious themes on ‘Heavenly Bodies’, the most recent follow up. A noticeable tone shift from the mellow ‘Psychedelic Love Storm’, ‘Heavenly Bodies’ feels like a companion piece in a growing collection of emotive tracks.

From listening to Patrick’s work so far, it is hard to believe that the Irish singer-songwriter suffers from a hearing condition. His inspirations clearly draw in the vocal ranges and compositions of the likes of Adele and Carol King, most clearly in the ‘ooohs’ of the chorus. Patrick hears through the music’s vibrations, giving his style a unique jolt.

Patrick’s confessional lyricism draws the listener in with candid lines: “I ignored the signs, until it was too late. My head got fucked up afterwards. I wrote a song as my therapy. Shorter version: men are dicks.” For anyone who’s experienced heartbreak, ‘Heavenly Bodies’ showcases the range of emotions that one experiences, with the bouncy Pop-Rock production giving the track a triumphant edge, with the feeling that Patrick has moved on and is in a better place for the experience.
