Anderson .Paak – Ventura | Video Review

Ventura is the fourth studio album from Anderson .Paak and comes less than six months after the lacklustre Oxnard. Dr. Dre was heavily involved in that project and arguably shifted the project’s sound away from Paak’s original sound. Ventura is enjoyable because it re-establishes the Neo Soul-inspired take on the classic Funk sound.

Thankfully, Ventura feels like a return to form for Anderson .Paak and despite being signed to Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment he appears to have greater creative freedom on the project. Which helps this feel closer to the fantastic Malibu project.

Considering the fact that great artists like Jon Connor are languishing in development hell on Aftermath; the biggest shock of this project is that it was released such a short time after the previous project.
