Octavian – Endorphins | Mixtape Review

Endorphins is the first project from Octavian since winning BBC Music’s Sound of 2019 award earlier this year. Winning this prize was a landmark achievement for the South London rapper and brought considerable attention to his career.

For the most part, Endorphins is enjoyable, the unexpected moments of experimentation make Octavian feel unique among UK Hip-Hop artists. However, it feels like his style comes too close to Travis Scott at times, which detracts from its overall quality.

On a positive note Octavian certainly holds his own and doesn’t get outshone by big-name guests like Skepta, Theophilus London, A$AP Ferg, and Smokepurpp.
